>>>           MULL IT OVER - Whitworth Art Gallery, WARP Festival, 25.06.2016          <<<
VIDEO by Sophie Broadgate here >> LEGROOM VIMEO

MULL IT OVER is a series of three performed actions in the gallery space, highlighting typical physical relationships to gallery spaces and artworks. Manipulating the unspoken rules of the gallery allows the qualities of communal viewing environments to be deconstructed. The work is  ironic and playful, lingering on the boundaries of the performative spectacle and everyday action. LEGROOM moved through the 3 sections of the work also  joined by members of the always shifting LEGROOM_COMPANY for the second section.
 > MULL IT OVER WITH YOU uses narration in a spoken word intervention. The gallery is intended for cultural discussion but often we are discussing – our day, what we are doing later, what does that piece remind us of? This action transforms the gallery visitor into a subject..intimately performed in  small pockets around the gallery.
 > MULL IT OVER WITH THEM is a collective movement with members of LEGROOM_COMPANY exploring the private and collective act of viewing and ‘considering’. LEGROOM create comparisons with everyday occurrences of collective looking and question the role of the viewer as appreciator, instigator and conflicting party.
 > MULL IT OVER FOR A BIT is a series of duets between body and artwork exploring physical viewing positions. LEGROOM uses the gallery visitors in the space as choreographic material to question the homogenous behaviors in exhibition spaces and  ‘keeping up appearances.’
